Founded
| The club was
founded in 1972 by a group of local
businessmen. A plot of land was bought and
Richard Barry, a well known local GUI member
designed a 9 hole layout. Through a voluntary
labour scheme the founding members acted as
labourers, and general ‘dogsbodies’ to landscape
and develop the course. From these humble
beginnings the club flourished and further land
was purchased enabling the course to expand to a
full 18 hole layout in 1994. |
